Thailand is Calling!
I'll be heading off on a 3-month photographic journey around Thailand and Southeast Asia this January. My trip will begin in Chiang Mai, home to the largest concentration of temples in Thailand, to shoot a photo series on the interaction of sacred places with modern urban settings. I've been fascinated by the urban landscape for years, as those who know my photography are aware, but I've also spent a great deal of time thinking about how the inanimate shells of our cities hold the meaning, tradition and the sacred elements of our culture. This is what I hope to explore in Chiang Mai and Thailand as a whole.
This project is more to me than just a set of photographs, it's basically my commitment to photography as a discipline, my way of devoting all the time, money and guts I can muster towards learning to support myself by doing what I love. We all need to try do that at one point in our lives, at least. This is mine. Will you help?
The deal is simple: If you help me afford my plane tickets to Thailand I'll send you signed, original, fine-art photographs from my trip.
You can find the details on the Thailand Project Kickstarter page.
A huge thank you in advance to everyone who lends a hand!
